Grief and trauma associated with the sudden loss of McCreedy’s son by a suicide in 2014, makes for a renewed obsession about the artists mortality and on themes related to bereavement. McCreedy continues to process her grief through making meaningful art as well as advocate and volunteer for groups such as the United to Face Addiction Organization in Washington DC. McCreedy is developing an on-line community project and platform where loss and love due to the Opioid Epidemic will show case other artist’s representations, who have also experienced similar trauma. All 100% of the proceeds from the art works sold will be donated directly to an annual, rotating legitimate recovery center to assist in an individual’s recovery process.
